Improving Your Signwork

Improving Your Signwork

One day when I was manning the front counter, a customer mentioned something that I had never noticed before. "Your store is pretty hard to see from the freeway." she said. I didn't know what to make of it, so I decided to do a little research myself. I got in my car after work that day, and tried to drive to my store like a new customer would. I realized that our outdoor sign work was really difficult to see, and even harder to read. I decided to make a few changes, and I believe it saved my business. This blog is all about how your sign could affect your company.

Creative Ways To Use Airbrushed Signs In Your Business

Are you looking for a creative way to decorate your business while advertising your product? Airbrushed signs can be just the thing, since they combine art and advertising in a unique way. Unlike traditional signs, airbrushed designs are hand painted, either onsite or on a sign material. The following are just a few of the ways you can incorporate this creative technique into your business.

#1: Create a Mural

Not all advertisements need to look like ads. Murals can be used on an indoor or outdoor wall to catch the eye and add beauty to the surroundings. For example, an outdoor wall airbrushed with a beautiful garden scene may draw people to a plant nursery. While the art should reflect your business in some way, you will also want the artist to work in your business name or logo for signs on outdoor walls.

#2: Look Up

Does the ceiling of your business clash with the rest of the surroundings? Many businesses are cursed with boring white drop ceilings, which are utilitarian and may not fit the overall mood you are trying to create in the store. A skilled airbrush artist can transform the ceiling so it makes the overall space more welcoming. For example, a ceiling that resembles the sky may be just the thing to brighten up a dark space.

#3: Customize the Furniture

Shelving, check stands, and cabinets are common furniture items in any business, and they tend to come in basic designs and neutral colors. You can dress these up by having them airbrushed in custom colors or with custom designs. You can even get designs that advertise the products you are selling. If you prefer to change these up seasonally, your artist can have fabric or rigid panels cut to fit the surface. They will then airbrush the design onto these panels so you can switch them out as desired.

#4: Leave No Window Uncovered

Another way to use airbrushing to create an attractive sign is window painting. The mesh technique uses special materials to place a design on the window that is opaque and easily seen from the outside, but simply resembles window tinting from inside. You can use this technique for permanent signage or to advertise special events, such as sales. Window signs are especially well suited for seasonal signage, since they are easily visible and changeable. Talk to a sign shop to learn more.
